Information on the Avoinyliopisto.fi web service
Avoinyliopisto.fi is a nationwide Open University information service for the use of everyone. This service presents all Open University courses available, provides basic information about Open University activities and offers links to further information.
The first version of the Avoinyliopisto.fi web service was launched in January 1998.
The Open University course database was recently redesigned in April 2006. In April 2007, a new version of the remaining content of the web service was launched.
Web service introduced
Open University education: This section provides information on Open University courses in Finland, the cooperation network and university activities for the elderly (Third Age Universities). The websites of Open Universities will also be accessible from this section.
Courses available: Instructions are provided for the use of a listing of all courses taught in English. The glossary provides definitions of the main concepts used in the course database.
Links: provides information from the database on courses taught in English, the highlights of such courses, and a link to a listing by subject of all courses taught in English
